MAYFIELD, Ky. (8/1/14) — On Thursday, July 31, 2014 the Kentucky State Police conducted an undercover narcotics investigation which resulted in the seizure of approximately one half pound of methamphetamine with a street value of approximately $22,000 dollars.
During the course of this investigation, the Kentucky State Police learned of a shipment of methamphetamine that was destined for the western Kentucky area. As a result of the investigation, a traffic stop was conducted on North Sutton Lane approximately 1 mile west of Mayfield.
KSP arrested Mauricio R. Ramirez, 22, of Union City, Tenn. Mr. Ramirez was charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, First Degree, First Offense, greater than or equal to 2 Grams (Class C Felony) and Buy/Possess Drug Paraphernalia (Class A Misdemeanor) and was lodged in the Graves County Jail.
KSP was assisted by the ATF (Paducah), McCracken County Sheriff’s Department and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
