Street Rehabilitation of Broadway Continues

paducah riverPADUCAH, Ky. (8/5/14) — The City of Paducah Engineering-Public Works Department wants to inform the public that crews will be setting up a detour this week on Broadway between 21st and 22nd Streets.

Traffic will need to detour to either Jefferson or Kentucky Avenue. Please use caution, and watch for the work crews and traffic control devices. Harper Construction is continuing the concrete work on that block of Broadway. This work will take approximately two weeks, weather-permitting.

Earlier this summer crews repaired the curbs and gutters, sidewalks, and various drainage structures on Broadway between 21st and 28th Streets. Later this year, this stretch of Broadway will be milled and paved.

This street rehabilitation project is part of the City of Paducah’s annual street improvement plan. Part of the funding is provided through the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Municipal Aid Program . MAP funds are collected from the State gas tax and are allocated for maintenance, reconstruction, or construction of city streets. The City of Paducah maintains approximately 220 miles of streets.

If you have a question, please call the Engineering-Public Works Department at (270) 444-8511.
