PADUCAH, Ky. (8/19/14) — On Aug. 15, 2014, detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's department received information that a Paducah man was selling large quantities of synthetic marijuana, often referred to as spice.
The Marshall County Sherriff's office had gleaned the information through an investigation their drug division has conducted.
Using that information, detectives determined that Feras Marji was selling synthetic marijuana from his residence on Dixie Avenue as well as other locations in western Kentucky and southern Illinois. During the morning on Aug 16. 2014, detectives from the McCracken County Sheriff's Department and Marshall County Sheriff's office executed a search warrant at Marji's residence.
During the search, detectives located over 2700 bags of synthetic marijuana, a loaded handgun and over $3000 believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.
Marji was arrested pursuant to an arrest warrant on the morning of Aug. 19, 2014 and charged with trafficking synthetic drugs first offense.He is lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
