MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (8/25/14) — On Aug. 23, 2014 at approximately 3:48 p.m., deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 6500 block of Highway 60 W at the entrance of McCracken County High School for a two vehicle motor vehicle accident.
Upon arrival, it was determined that Marlon Brown, 41, of Paducah was operating his 2007 Chrysler passenger car and was East on Hwy 60 W. As Brown approached the stop light on Hwy 60 at the entrance to McCracken High School, he failed to stop at a red light. Brown proceeded through the intersection making contact with Melissa Heine, 43, of Paducah. Heine had a green turn arrow and was attempting to make a left turn into McCracken High School from the West bound side of Hwy 60 W.
Heine was operating a 2014 BMW SUV. Heine also had Brian Heine, 12, of Paducah traveling with her at the time of the collision.
Neither Brian or Melissa Heine were treated for injuries. Brown was transported to Baptist Hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition.
East bound lanes of HWY 60 W were shut down for approximately 1 hour while emergency crews cleared the scene.Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Concord Fire Department, Mercy Regional Ambulance Service, and BA’s Tow Service.
