Injury Collision at Husbands Rd. and John L. Puryear

accident injuries amb 300PADUCAH, Ky. (3/21/13) – On Wednesday, March 20, at approximately 3:26 PM, McCracken County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a reported two-vehicle accident in front of Hodges Convenience Store on John L. Puryear Drive.
 
After an investigation into the accident, Deputies found that a 1996 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, driven by a 17-year-old Paducah resident was crossing John L. Puryear into the parking lot of Hodges Convenience Store and pull into the path of another vehicle. The secondary vehicle, driven by 70-year-old Chester Wood, was a 2005 Ford Taurus was northbound on John L. Puryear and could not stop in time to avoid the collision. The collision slowed the North bound lane to one lane for approximately 45 minutes.
 
Both individuals were transported by Mercy Ambulance Service to an area hospital for possible minor injuries.
 
The Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Reidland Fire Dept, and Randy’s and Speedy’s Towing Services.
