DUE TO HEAVY SNOWS IN WESTERN KENTUCKY...WIDESPREAD 6 TO 12 INCH SNOWFALL AMOUNTS HAVE HAULTED AREA TRAVEL. ISOLATED 15 INCH AMOUNTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED. DRIFTS UP TO A FOOT AND A HALF HAVE ALSO BEEN REPORTED. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM SITUATION AND TRAVEL SHOULD BE AVOIDED IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. (National Weather Service)

DelmerFIre1MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (4/5/13) – At approximately 5:00 this evening, April 5, 2013, the Greenville Fire Department and Emergency Management responded to a report of an out of control brush fire on Weir Road, just up from Friendship Baptist Church.

Once on the scene, firefighters found that a fire was burning throughout an area behind a home. The fire mostly consisted of dried grass, brush and dried leaves throughout the area.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, with no structure damage on the property home, nearby homes and other nearby structures.

Greenville Fire Department was assisted on the scene by Emergency Management.
