mgoose 300GREENVILLE, Ky. (5/20/13) – The Palace Theatre in downtown Greenville played host to numerous children, adults, and a stage full of Mother Goose characters over the weekend. It was all for a great cause…to help raise funds for the Muhlenberg Community Theatre (MCTI).

Children, parents and grandparents had two chances to watch Mother Goose and her many characters come to life on stage, with shows Friday at 7 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 2.

The somewhat different twist on the tails of Old King Cole and Mary Quite Contrary brought more than a few laughs from the young children who sat on the floor right in front of the stage, and the adults attending had the chance to participate in a silent auction featuring a wide array of rocking chairs, each custom designed featuring themes including the UK Wildcats, the U of L Cardinals, and the good old Red, White and Blue. Proceeds from admission and the auction will go to help pay off the building adjacent to the theatre.

If you missed the show, but would like to help in fundraising efforts for MCTI, call 270-977-1531 or 270-338-7165. You can also log on to www.tourgreenville.com for complete details.
