Suspect Arrested for Breaking Into School

travis richardPADUCAH, KY (12/8/11) – On December 6, 2011, at approximately 12:25 a.m., McCracken County Deputies responded to Farley Elementary School, 1250 Husbands, on a burglar alarm activation. Upon arrival, the glass in a rear door was discovered to be broken out.

Upon viewing the video surveillance from the school, deputies observed the suspect enter the school and remain inside for approximately 45 seconds. The suspect did not take anything from the school.

Deputies were able to identify the suspect by showing a still photo of the video surveillance to employees at the McCracken County Jail. Jailers identified the suspect to be Travis Richards.

During the on scene investigation at the school, a nearby resident reported that a young white male had come to his home asking for a ride. The resident advised the individual appeared to be cold and intoxicated. The resident gave the individual a ride to a trailer park on Milliken Road and dropped him off.

Later that afternoon, detectives were able to locate Richards on Milliken Road at his girlfriend’s home.

Richards was arrested without incident and lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
