PADUCAH, KY (12/19/11) – At approximately 11:52 AM on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, McCracken County Sheriff’s Deputies and Paducah Police Officers responded to the scene of an accident on US60/Clarks River Road.
Officers were advised of an initial hit and run accident. A small blue vehicle was given as the run vehicle. Paducah Police responded from the city, searching for a vehicle matching that description. Upon arrival, officers learned Mindi N. Humphrey, 30, of Benton was traveling west on US60/Clarks River Road in the inside lane when a small blue vehicle approached her from behind and came within a close distance of the rear of Humphrey’s vehicle. Humphrey tapped her brakes and the vehicle sped around and got in front of Humphrey and hit their brakes. This caused Humphrey to hit her brakes causing her to lose control of her vehicle.
Humphrey’s 2000 Gray Jeep Grand Cherokee left the roadway and overturned. The small blue vehicle continued west on US60/Clarks River Road. Paducah Police and Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle in the area.
The occupants were described as a white male driver with yellow rimmed glasses, a white female passenger and a small child passenger.
Humphrey was taken to an area hospital to be checked due to a prior injury. The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating.
The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by Reidland Fire and Mercy Regional.
