WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (4/24/13) - The following is your weekly update of events and activities in the Webster County area.
OVAL Kitchen Tour
The Ohio Valley Art League Ninth Annual Kitchen Tour will be held Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Five homes located in Henderson County will be featured along with a chef in each kitchen with a sample of a recipe to taste. Tickets can be purchased at Third Street House in Henderson, Maxine's Bakery & Cafe in Evansville, www.ohiovalleyart.org or 270-860-1930.
Historical Society To Meet
Webster County Historical and Genealogical Society will meet at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 27, at the Parker Warner Museum in Providence. All members and prospective members are encouraged to attend.
Monthly Senior Citizen Meet
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and The Rosenwald Center will host the monthly Senior Citizen Meet-Up at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27. Everyone is welcome.
Walk For Autism
Family Day Sunday
New Cedar Grove General Baptist Church will hold a "Family Day" Sunday, April 28. All services will be held at Camp Clark in Dixon. Sunday school will be at 10 a.m. and worship at 11 followed by a pot luck meal. The Stone Family will be singing at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
Organ Donor Dinner
Webster County Health Coalition will host a National Organ Donor Awareness dinner at 6 p.m. Monday, April 29th, at the Extension Office in Dixon. For more information call 993-8282.
Clay First General Baptist Church will host a Mother & Daughter Luncheon at noon Saturday, May 4. All ladies and guests are invited. The luncheon will be catered by Kafie McDowell. Speaker will be Jill Dunbar.
Democratic Women To Meet
Webster County Democratic Women to meet at 5 p.m. Monday, May 6 at the Onton Fire Barn.
Dixon City Commission
Dixon City Commission will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, May 6 at City Hall instead of the regularly set date of the second Monday of the month (May 13) due to a scheduled interdepartmental software training program. Anyone interested in attending this meeting please make note of the meeting date change.
County Drug Toss
Time again for the Drug Toss in Webster County. An opportunity to rid citizens of unused/unwanted drugs - prescription and over-the-counter. The permanent Drug Drop Box is also available for disposal of these drugs anytime the courthouse is open. The Box is located in the Sheriff's office on the second floor of the Courthouse. The Drug Toss will be held at the following locations from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, April 27: Clay - in front of Community Bank; Providence - in front of Sureway; Sebree - across from Dairy Bar on Hwy. 41-A; Slaughters - in front of Downtown Market.
