Take a kid fishing 300MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (1/30/13) – There will be plenty of young fishermen on hand Saturday, May 11th, for The Muhlenberg County Planning Committee's "Take Kids Fishing" Event Tournament, coming to Luzerne Lake, just off the 189 bypass.

The planning committee met for the fifth time Tuesday and continued to work out big plans at the Muhlenberg County Conversation District Office.

Plans continue to be made regarding construction work at the lake in dredging activities to deepen shallow areas and other improvements.

Pre-registration was discussed with a cost of one dollar, two dollars on the day of the event.

One dollar will get each hungry fisherman a hot dog, chips, drink and a specially designed "Take a Kid Fishing" t-shirt.

Tommy Barton, Director of Muhlenberg County Parks, has arranged for money saving preregistration sites at the Muhlenberg Conservation District Office, along with the utility offices in Central City, Greenville, Drakesboro, and Powderly. You can also preregister at Uncle Lee's, Bremen Water District, and the County Clerk's office in Greenville.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to Noon, with awards handed out from Noon to 1 p.m.
