Paducah Event v2 300PADUCAH, Ky. (3/16/13) – The following are upcoming events that will Affect Roads and/or Parks in the Paducah area.
 
St. Patty’s Day Smash Strongman Competition: The 2nd Annual St. Patty's Day Smash Strongman Competition will be held Saturday. From approximately 6 a.m. until 6 p.m., Broadway will be closed from the corner of Lone Oak Road to the corner of 31st and Broadway. South 31st Street also will be closed from Broadway to Kentucky Avenue. The competition will be at 11 a.m.
 
Beat Beethoven 5K: The Beat Beethoven 5K will be held Saturday at Noble Park. Registration for the 5K starts at 7:30 a.m. with the run at 9 a.m. The one mile youth run is at 10 a.m. Proceeds will benefit the Paducah Symphony Orchestra. The object, in addition to having a great time running a 5K, is to beat Beethoven's 5th Symphony. During the race, the entrance to Noble Park will be limited to the baseball field parking lot off of Park Avenue. The roads in Noble Park will be closed during the race for the runners' safety.
 
Leprechaun Hunt: Paducah Parks Services’ annual Leprechaun Hunt (St. Patrick’s Day themed scavenger hunt) will be Saturday in Noble Park. Meet at shelter 10 across from the pool for registration starting at 12:30 p.m. The hunt begins at 1 p.m. This is a free event in which families compete against other families to complete a scavenger hunt through the park. Participate in teams of your family or friends. It’s an “on-foot” event that runs across the entire park. Participants will have the chance to win prizes as they try to find the hidden Leprechaun. The park remains open for the event. If you are driving through the park, please watch for children and families as they are running to finish the scavenger hunt.
