DUE TO HEAVY SNOWS IN WESTERN KENTUCKY...WIDESPREAD 6 TO 12 INCH SNOWFALL AMOUNTS HAVE HAULTED AREA TRAVEL. ISOLATED 15 INCH AMOUNTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED. breaking news body foundTRIGG COUNTY, Ky. (7/1/13) – On June 30th, at approximately 10:00 AM, Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 was notified by Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife (KDFW) of a body that had been recovered on Kentucky Lake.

KDFW advised the body had been located by members of the Marshall County Rescue Squad near the Trigg/Lyon county line. It was believed that the deceased was that of a subject reported missing from Tennessee.  

Due to the nature of the incident, Fish and Wildlife requested that KSP conduct the death investigation. Preliminary autopsy results show that the victim, 72-year-old Daniel Couger of Big Sandy, TN, suffered a single gunshot wound to the head.  

The investigation is currently ongoing by Detective Steve Silfies.
