OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/5/13) – The Owensboro Chamber of Commerce welcomed the H.L. Neblett Community Center’s second location, Child Learning Center Annex, with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday.
The center is home to the Trib Ball Free to Learn program, a state-licensed program that focuses on early childhood development. The program teaches fundamentals and literacy skill to children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. The children receive meals, prepared by staff, and take part in recreation activities.
The center, which has been open for approximately one week, is available to the public from 9:30 a.m. to midnight each weekday.
“It’s something we’ve been working on and planning for a long time,” Gregory Black, Executive Director, said.
The program averages 40 to 50 children throughout Owensboro and Daviess County, according to the H.L. Neblett website.
“What really sets us apart is out he passion we have for the kids,” Black said. “Our staff is incredible…we just love kids.”
The Community Center collaborated with the Housing Authority of Owensboro on the new location.
