People Plus 300CALVERT CITY, Ky. (1/22/14) – In 2013, People Plus initiated a fun way to raise money for a local charity. Each office had the opportunity to “buy-in” for a Cash for Kids challenge, instilling its motto, "Every Person Counts" with a "Casual Friday" event.

The rules were simple: wear jeans to work on Friday and donate $1 for the “blue jean pot.”

For each office that participated, People Plus matched the money raised and allowed the winning office to choose a local charity to receive the funds.

People Plus Calvert City office presented a check for $225 to The Kentucky Sheriffs' Boys and Girls Ranch.

The Kentucky Sheriffs' Boys and Girls Ranch provides a free camp for kids ages 8-11 during the summer. Campers are selected from low income families with the assistance of local schools, social service agencies, churches, and various civic organizations. During the camp, the boys and girls participate in fun activities such as horseback riding, swimming, hiking, fishing, scavenger hunts and arts and crafts. Law Enforcement Officers mentor and teach classes on bullying and drug awareness.

"People Plus is proud to contribute to this outstanding organization as they work to direct the lives of our young people in successful directions," said Martin.
