ky trans 300DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (6/23/14) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is continuing multiple culvert replacement projects along Kentucky 662 in Daviess County.

A section of Kentucky 662 at mile point 2.353 has been closed since June 2 to allow installation of a pre-fabricated culvert just west of the South Chestnut Grove Road intersection is reopening today.

Starting Tuesday, June 24, 2014, a section of Kentucky 662 in Daviess County will be closed at mile point 3.515 to allow a culvert to be replaced at that location. This is along Kentucky 662 just west of the intersection with Kentucky 661.

There will be no marked detour. About 200 vehicles travel this section of Kentucky 662 in an average day.

The roadway at this location is expected to be closed for about 2 weeks or more to allow installation of a pre-fabricated culvert. Use of the pre-fabricated culvert will cost about 30 percent less than a unit constructed on site and reduces the length of the closure time from months to weeks.

Another pre-fabricated aluminum culvert was recently installed along Kentucky 145 at mile point 3.5 in Henderson County at the intersection with Sulphur Springs Road south of Corydon. Kentucky 145 has reopened to traffic at that site today.
