Camper Stolen in Utica Recovered in Greenville

theft by unlawfulGREENVILLE, Ky. (8/25/14) ― A Greenville man is in custody after Kentucky State Police investigated the theft of a camper from Utica.

According to a KSP report, Trooper Jon McGehee was investigating the theft that had been reported to the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department Aug. 10. McGhee went to the residence of William Scott McElvain, 44, in Greenville.

The report said that after talking to McElvain, McGehee located the 2009 Puma camper parked behind McElvain’s garage.

McElvain was charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000, and is being lodged in the Muhlenberg Detention Center.

Greenville Police assisted with the investigation.
