Counselor Opens Right Way Ministry in Central City

CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (3/14/13) – Members of The Greater Muhlenberg Chamber of Commerce gathered Thursday afternoon to for the ribbon cutting of The Right Way Ministry and Bible Study, located next to the Central City Masonic Lodge at 205 East Broad Street. Pastor Jeffrey Hollowell said the unique nondenominational ministry hopes to fill a wide range of needs as it continues to grow.

"I've been around students from all over the world, Hallowell said. "This has made me more sensitive to their needs. As well-rounded individuals, they learn skills and get their academic needs met. But they need their spiritual needs met to be complete. I love interacting with students. These people are our future. Our ministry began there, and has developed from that. I believe if you're in the middle of something and see something that needs to be done, but you don't act, you become part of the problem."

As part of the solution, Pastor Hollowell stresses his ministry is still in its infancy. However his vision for The Right Way Ministry includes a wide array of services.

"We plan to have a food pantry, a clothes closet with clothing that people can wear to job interviews, teaching how to prepare for an interview and put together a resume and preparing someone to be employed. We also plan to work with people suffering from substance abuse and help former felons get jobs. Once someone finds out a person has been a felon, they tend to shy away from those people. But they have a basic right to provide for themselves, their families and children. If we don't help, we are just pushing them right back into a negative situation. We would like to get with local employers and see if they will give these people a second chance. They have paid their dues. They deserve an opportunity. Also we want our services to be available after hours when people who have to work during the day can have their needs met." Hollowell said.

The Right Way Ministry offers Wednesday evening bible study at 6 to pm. Sunday fellowship at 10am, and Sunday services are at 11am.

"After that we have a light meal, Hollowell adds. "I believe in feeding the spiritual man and the physical man. It's just part of our fellowship."
