BOWLING GREEN, KY (2/9/12) – On Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, Warren County Sheriffs Deputies responded to Greenwood Trailer Park due to a complaint of a man armed and brandishing a knife.
Once on the scene, Deputy Shawn Inabnitt located the suspect and ordered him to show his hands. The suspect, 42-year-old Cecil Jones of Bowling Green, then charged Inabnitt and a physical altercation ensued.
In the course of the altercation with Jones, he attempted to take control of Inabnitt’s sidearm. Sgt. Bill Stephens arrived on the scene and utilized his issued Taser to help subdue Jones. Deputy Inabnitt received an injury to his finger in the altercation. He was treated and released from the Medical Center.
Jones also received minor injuries and was treated and released from the Medical Center at Bowling Green. Jones was charged with Assault 3rd (Police Officer), Attempt to Disarm a Peace Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree. Jones was lodged in the Warren County Jail.
