BOWLING GREEN, KY (5/4/12) - On April 2, at 2:51 PM, the Warren County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an injury collision in the 1100 BLK of KY Hwy 185.
A 2000 GMC Denali, driven by Larry Byrd of Auburn, was traveling northbound on KY Hwy 185. Byrd then left the roadway and struck a fence. The driver, Larry Byrd was transported to the Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. Chism, the passenger in the vehicle, was not injured.
At the same time a second collision occurred at the same location. A 1997 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Edward Cox of Round hill was also traveling southbound on KY Hwy 185. Cox's vehicle left the roadway striking a tree at the same location.
Cox was transported to the Medical Center and later flown by Air Evac to Vanderbilt University Hospital.
France Cox, a passenger in the vehicle, was also transported to the Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
Neither of the vehicles struck each other. All occupants were wearing seat belts and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision. Both collisions are still under investigation.
