BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (1/31/13) – Erin Pennington has been preparing a Christian conference to take place in Bowling Green for several months. The conference originally scheduled for March 22-24 has been rescheduled.
Pennington said that there were several factors leading them to believe the date should be changed. The first was a call from their main speaker, Blake Bergstrom.
“I got a call from him last week that his entire church is moving buildings that weekend and that all pastors were going to have to be there for the support of that move,” Pennington said.
Pennington and the rest of his team took this as an opportunity to discuss what the best option was in the situation.
“We also had a few legal concerns about hosting a conference because we are all very new to this conference thing,” he said. “Our team decided that it was best to move the date of Ignite simply for safety’s sake.”
After the team discussed the possibility of the fall, nothing worked well with Western Kentucky University’s football schedule. They then decided to keep the event at about the same dates, just in 2014 instead.
“God has been moving so powerfully already in this ministry so we have no doubt he has a hand in this,” Pennington said. “He has provided so much for us already so we are definitely still going to be in full swing preparing for Ignite. More time to plan just means more time to go around and tell everyone about Jesus!”
