BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (3/5/13) – Eight members of the Western Kentucky University Forensics Team traveled to Westerville, Ohio, to take part in a debate tournament hosted by Otterbein University the weekend of March 2-3.
WKU won the tournament, closing out the semifinal round. The team advanced six members to the quarterfinal round and then advanced four together to the semifinal round. As no other school was still in competition, WKU took all four top spots. Other schools competing at the tournament included Hillsdale College, Lafayette College and Otterbein University.
This is the second time this season that WKU debaters have closed out a tournament at the semifinal round stage, a rare accomplishment.
Next week the team will travel to St. Louis to compete at the Pi Kappa Delta National Tournament.
