Road Construction Work Planned on Audubon Parkway Next Week

road closed red 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (6/7/13) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close the westbound exit and entry ramps at the Audubon Parkway Interchange with Ky. 1554 starting Tuesday, June 11.

The westbound exit and entry ramps at Audubon Parkway Exit 18 for Sorgho in Daviess County will be closed starting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. There will be no access from or to the westbound lanes of the Audubon Parkway at the Ky. Hwy. 1554 Sorgho interchange.

There will be no marked detour. Motorists may self-detour via U.S. 60, Ky. 81 and Ky. 56.

This ramp closure is to allow reconstruction of the Audubon Parkway westbound exit and entry ramps at the Sorgho exit. Work on the westbound ramps at Exit 18 is expected to take about 9 days to complete, weather permitting.

This westbound ramp closure at Ky. 1554 is part of a larger general rehab project along the Audubon from mile point 16.5 near the Green River Bridge at the Daviess-Henderson County Line to the Audubon Parkway/U.S. 60 Interchange in Owensboro.

Chester Bross Construction Company is the prime contractor on this $6.1 million highway improvement project. The estimated completion date for the rehab work is Sept. 1.
