Sen. Paul to Hold Military Service Medals Presentation

randpaul01 300BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (6/21/13) - On Monday, June 24, Sen. Rand Paul will hold a military medals presentation to honor the service of Airman 1st Class Billy Hickey, a veteran of the Korean War who was held for nearly three years as a prisoner of war in Bowling Green, KY.
 
Hickey, now deceased, was a native of Rockcastle County, Ky. He arrived home in October of 1953 after 33 months as a POW, serving four years as a private first class in the U.S. Army. He enlisted with the U.S. Air Force in March of 1954 and served four years as an airman first class with that branch.
 
The following medals will be presented to Hickey’s son, Col. George Hickey:
 
• Good Conduct Medal
• National Defense Service Medal
• Korean Service Medal & Silver Star Attachment
• United Nations Service Medal

Sen. Paul to Hold Military Service Medals Presentation


WASHINGTON, D.C. – (6/22/13) - On Monday, June 24, Sen. Rand Paul will hold a military medals presentation to honor the service of Airman 1st Class Billy Hickey, a veteran of the Korean War who was held for nearly three years as a prisoner of war.

 

Hickey, now deceased, was a native of Rockcastle County, Ky. He arrived home in October of 1953 after 33 months as a POW, serving four years as a private first class in the U.S. Army.
