Bowling Green Hosting ASA Men's Class C East Fastpitch National Championships

ASA SOFTBALL 300BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (8/27/13) – Men’s fastpitch softball teams from across the country will be in Bowling Green this weekend competing in the 2013 Amateur Softball Association Men’s Class “C” East Fastpitch National Championship.

The tournament begins Friday, August 30, at 5:30 p.m. and continues through Sunday, September 1, at Michael O. Buchanon Park.

“Since its Labor Day weekend and lots of families will be enjoying outdoor activities, this tournament comes at a great time for our hotels and restaurants,” said Amy Cardwell, Sports Sales Director of the Bowling Green Area Convention & Visitors Bureau. “It’s also a great opportunity for spectators to enjoy some fun competition.”

Teams are traveling from as far away as Kansas, Pennsylvania and Texas. This tournament expands Bowling Green’s softball repertoire and provides more adult fastpitch entertainment compared to the youth tournaments Bowling Green hosts during summer months.

Daily admission is $6.00 for adults, $4.00 for children 7 – 12 and free for six and under. Weekend passes for the entire tournament, Friday through Sunday, are $15.00 for adults and $10 for children.

For more information and a complete tournament schedule, please contact Kentucky ASA Deputy Commissioner Brenda Petty at 270-779-2689 or 270-784-0335 or visit http://www.kyasa.org.
