BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (9/6/13) – On September 5, 2013, at approximately 10:00 AM, a Warren County Sheriff's Deputy, assigned to the Criminal Interstate Patrol Team, conducted a traffic stop on 2494 Church Street in Oakland, Kentucky.
While conducting the stop, a passenger in the vehicle fled on foot into a large cornfield close to Interstate-65. A foot pursuit and K-9 deployment ensued, and the suspect was not located immediately after he fled. Through further investigation, the individual was arrested by the Criminal Interstate Patrol Team later in the day in the same area where the traffic stop occurred.
It was revealed at the time of arrest, that the individual had given the deputy false information during the earlier traffic stop. The suspect was identified as David Yoakem, 37 years of age, of Bowling Green, Kentucky. Yoakem was wanted on active warrants of arrest for felony Probation Violations out of Warren County and Simpson County.
Yoakem was arrested and lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
Yoakem's charges include Giving Officer False Name / Address, Disorderly Conduct, Fleeing / Evading Police Second Degree (On Foot), Criminal Trespass Third Degree, Theft of Identity Without the Person's Consent,
