Christian Care at Home To Roll Out New Fleet of Vehicles in Logan and Warren Counties

ELDERLY CAREWARREN COUNTY, KY (10/30/13) - To meet the area’s growing demand for in-home health care services and further enhance safety for its team in the field, Christian Care at Home is rolling out a new fleet of 2014 Nissan Versa vehicles in Logan and Warren counties.

The fleet is set to be unveiled at Christian Care at Home’s Russellville office location at 1405 Nashville Street on Wednesday, October 30, at 3 p.m.

“This new fleet creates an even safer work environment for our home health aides, nurses, physical, occupational and speech therapists who are each now logging about 14,000 miles a year on the road as more people than ever want the convenience and comfort that comes with in-home care,” Mary Lynn Spalding, Vice President of Home and Community Based Services at Christian Care Communities, said.

Christian Care at Home, which provides a full range of comprehensive in-home services, seven days a week, is pleased to provide its home health aides and other field employees with company cars.

“Our full-time field employees will now just drive to the office, pick up their car and start their day, and we believe that will create the best possible days for our employees and, in turn, for the individuals and families we’re serving in the region,” Spalding said.

The fleet of 10 new cars represents a significant investment by Christian Care at Home and is part of a pilot project developed in partnership with Enterprise Fleet Management to help lower operating costs while providing employees with the added convenience and safety of a company car and an alternative to mileage reimbursement.

“We’re piloting this program in Warren and Logan counties because that’s where our employees are logging the most mileage, but we hope to roll out similar programs in the other eight Kentucky counties we serve,” Spalding said, noting that in the last year alone, individuals and families receiving skilled in-home care from Christian Care at Home increased 20 percent.

Christian Care at Home employees celebrated the arrival of the new cars by enjoying “treats in the trunk” provided by Enterprise.

Christian Care at Home provides skilled nursing care, physical, occupational and speech therapy, medical social services, assistance with daily living activities, nutritional management and education and coordination of durable medical equipment. It serves individuals and families in Logan, Warren, Christian, Hopkins, Grayson, Ohio, McLean, Webster, Daviess and Henderson counties.

Christian Care at Home is a service of Christian Care Communities, Kentucky’s largest faith-inspired not-for-profit provider of affordable housing and long-term care for Older Adults.
