HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (1/22/14) — Regular breakfast customers of the McDonalds located at 502 North Drive in Elkton had an interruption to their normal routine on the morning of Monday, Jan. 20.
The restaurant had to be shut down from 7 - 10 a.m. after police found a mobile meth lab in the parking lot.
Police were called to perform a welfare check on a vehicle sitting in a handicap parking space.
Upon arrival, authorities observed that the driver’s side door was tied shut with a plastic tube. After cutting the tube, police found 33-year-old Jennifer R. Cunningham-Hadden of Hopkinsville slumped over the steering wheel of her 1995 Nissan Pathfinder. They also detected a strong odor of ether.
Authorities also found a trash bag in the back floorboard that contained cans of starter fluid.
Cunningham-Hadden was charged with public intoxication/controlled substance and unauthorized parking in a handicap zone.
