Aramark Opens Steak‘N Shake on WKU Campus

wku newsBowling Green, Ky. (3/23/14) — Western Kentucky University and Aramark Higher Education are pleased to announce the addition of Steak ‘n Shake to the WKU Restaurant Group’s extensive dining portfolio.

Opening in August 2014, Steak ‘n Shake will be located in the newly renovated Downing Student Union Food Court.

Steak ‘n Shake, founded in 1934, is the pioneer of the “better burger” segment of the restaurant industry.

With a highly anticipated debut for the fall semester, students returning back to the University will be able to enjoy Steak ‘n Shake’s famous Original Steakburger and award-winning Milk Shakes, among other delicious menu items.

“As the first ever Steak ‘n Shake university location, Western Kentucky University is excited to welcome the brand to our campus and we believe that the new menu options provide even more variety for our students and staff,” said Gary Meszaros, Assistant VP of Auxiliary Services.

The new, contemporary Steak ‘n Shake restaurant displays a counter service only model with a simple menu consisting of only the freshest ingredients, and serving its famous hand-crafted real steak Steakburgers, thin ‘n crispy shoestring french fries and hand-dipped real-milk shakes.

Students will have the option to use a meal plan to purchase a Value Meal at Steak ‘n Shake.

Customers will also be allowed to use any declining balance account they may have; Meal Plan Dollars, Dining Dollars or Big Red Dollars as well as cash, debit or credit card.
