MUHLENBERG, Ky. (3/31/14) — The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close Kentucky 853 in southern Muhlenberg County Tuesday, April 1, 2014.

This closure of Kentucky 853 between the 6 and 7 mile marker is to for the replacement of a cross drain. Kentucky 853 will be closed to through traffic from Kentucky 171 to Kentucky 189.

Kentucky 853 will be closed starting about 7:30 a.m., CDT, Tuesday. It is expected to reopen to traffic at approximately 5 p.m., Tuesday.

Local access will be maintained for property owners on each side of the closure point.

This section of Kentucky 853 in southern Muhlenberg County carries about 100 vehicles in an average day.
