BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (4/30/14) — A Western Kentucky University student has been arrested after he brandished an unloaded handgun on campus.
WKU Police responded to a call of a verbal disturbance on Centennial Mall near Bates-Runner Hall. As they were responding, they received a 911 call about a man with a gun.
Police arrived, identified the suspect, who then ran when approached. He was caught behind the Downing Student Union and arrested without incident less than five minutes after the 911 call was received. Police confiscated the unloaded weapon and took him to the Warren County Regional Jail.
Michael S. Dearborn, a freshman from Goodlettsville, Tenn., was charged with wanton endangerment first degree, fleeing and evading first degree, disorderly conduct, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, receiving stolen property (firearm) and menacing.Police are continuing their investigation.
