UPDATE: WARREN COUNTY, Ky. (5/8/14) — The Warren County Sheriff's Office has taken a few complaints of this particular scam, but now the perpetrators are saying that the Warren County DA's Office or Warren County Attorney's Office is issuing warrants if the victim doesn't agree to send money.
Warren County Attorney Amy Milliken and Warren County Sheriff Jerry "Peanuts" Gaines want to assure all Warren County citizens that business concerning the issuance of warrants, fines and costs, or other financial matters are not handled by telephone. All citizens should refuse to give any personal information and under no circumstances send money in response to a phone call from someone claiming that offices in Barren County or Warren County are going to issue warrants if financial transactions are not completed.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office has also received reports of citizens that are getting calls regarding another scam where perpetrators are calling saying loved ones are in jail out of state and requesting money be sent for bail.
Citizens can report any suspicious activity such as this to the Warren County Sheriff's Office at (270) 842-1633.

ORIGINAL:BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (5/2/14) — The Warren County Sheriff's Office has taken several reports of citizens claiming that they have received phone calls stating that they have missed jury duty or failed to pay a fine.
The caller tells citizens to send money to avoid a warrant being issued.
The Warren County Circuit Court Clerk's Office does not conduct any business regarding missed court dates / fines & costs / or jury duty via telephone. All of these calls will be a scam.
Warren County Sheriff's Office urges citizens not to fall victim by completing any type of financial transaction.Call the Warren County Sheriff's Office with any questions or to report a problem with a phone scammer at (270) 842-1633.
