BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (7/7/14) — Two Western Kentucky University employees captured the 2014 National Collegiate Golf Alliance Championship last week in Las Vegas.
Matt Morrison and Adam Whitt, both employees in WKU Athletics, won the faculty and staff division and the overall national championship with a record team score of 10 under par 62, besting 97 teams from across the United States.
Morrison and Whitt won the faculty and staff championship in 2010 and 2011 and were runners-up in 2009. Whitt teamed with Jeff True in 2012 to finish as runners-up in a scorecard playoff.
Students Robert Greenleaf of Maui, Hawaii, and Kellen Fleener of Beaver Dam finished fifth in the student division and seventh overall while Mike Stephens and Chris Nelms finished sixth in the alumni/community division and 14th overall.
