WEBSTER COUNTY, KY (12/5/12) – The following is your weekly update of events and activities in the Webster County area.
Food Pantry Schedule
The Food Pantry, The Five Thousand Food Bank, located at the Webb Memorial Methodist Church in Clay is currently closed. The mobile pantry will be available from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19.
Church Christmas Program
Enon General Baptist Church will present their Christmas program December 9 at 11 a.m. Speaker for the services will be Bro. Roger Stewart. Lunch will be served after all church services. There will be no night service on the 9th. Everyone is invited to attend.
Retired Teachers To Meet
The Webster County Retired Teachers will meet at Shemwell's Nursing Home in Providence at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10. Lunch will be furnished by Shemwell's. The scheduled speaker is Greg Shouse who will discuss insurance. All members are urged to attend.
Canned Food Drive
Providence Home Center Hardware & Paint Center have drop boxes for canned food to benefit the Providence Community Food Bank.
SBDM Council To Meet
Dixon Elementary School Site Based Council will meet at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, in the conference room.
Holiday Open House
Webster County Cooperative Extension Service will have a Holiday Open House from 11 a.m.. - 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13. Everyone is welcome.
Children's Christmas Party
V.F.W. Jack McDowell Post No. 5484 Ladies Auxiliary are sponsoring and hosting the Children's Christmas Party Friday, Dec. 14, at the Providence V.F.W. The event will start at 6 p.m. Santa will be visiting and refreshments will be provided.
Dixon Community Churches along with Western KY Teen Challenge will present "Living Nativity" Friday, Dec. 14, from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Courthouse Square in Dixon.
Christmas Potluck Party
The city of Wheatcroft invites their citizens to a Christmas Potluck Party at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Wheatcroft Community Center. For more information call Rachel Wright, 635-0464.
