WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (1/23/12) - A bank robbery at the Green River Area Federal Credit Union on Thursday led to the arrest and possible closing of ten bank robbery cases across Henderson and Webster County.
Shortly after the robbery a Henderson Police detective spotted a silver Pontiac G6 matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle.
Police questioned James Allen Morris, 53 of Henderson, at which time he was arrested and charged with eight counts of 1st Degree Robbery in Henderson. These included Old National Bank in August, 2006; US Bank in September of 2006 and January of 2007; Green River Area Federal Credit Union in July of 2012 and January 2012; Independence Bank in August of 2012; and Bank Trust (formerly known as The Bank of Henderson) in August of 2012.
As the Henderson Police began working with other jurisdictions they uncovered information that led the Kentucky State Police to charge Morris with two counts of 1st Degree Robbery for robbing the Integra Bank Branch in Poole on August 11, 2006 and July 23, 2010.
He is currently housed at the Henderson County Detention Center.
