Pride Elementary Seeks Votes in Online Competition

seeds change 300MADISONVILLE, Ky. (5/1/13) – Pride Elementary School is asking community members for their votes in an online Facebook competition through Seeds of Change: Share the Good.

Prizes include 15 organic gardening grants valued at $10,000, and a grand prize of $25,000.

If funded, the school has the following goals:
• Provide authentic, organic growing and harvesting experiences for students;
• Create larger harvests to share fresh foods with nonprofits;
• Provide nutrition education outreach monthly to families;
• Increase the number of organic gardens in our community;
• Increase the amount of nutrition/organic gardening literature available to families in school libraries.

The school hopes to get into the Top 50 by May 17, which results in the grant application being reviewed by an evaluation panel in the next level of the competition.
