UPDATE - Semi Jackknifed on Pennyrile Parkway

JacknifedtruckMADISONVILLE, Ky. (5/31/13) -The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has stated that the roadway has been cleared and all lanes are open as of 8:45 AM.

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (5/31/13) – At approximately 7:15 AM on Friday, May 31, a tractor trailer truck accident occurred on Pennyrile Parkway in front of Hampton Inn, between the 42 and 44 mile marker, within the Madisonville city limits.

According to officials, a semi was traveling down the parkway when the truck ran off the median and re-entered the highway, jackknifing. As of 7:45 AM, both of the southbound lanes were blocked as first responders attempted to clear the roadway.

Traffic was backed up approximately 1 mile at around 7:30 AM.
