WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (8/28/13) - The following is your weekly update of law enforcement activity in and around the Webster County area.
Webster County Sheriff Frankie Springfield reported the following accidents:
Thu., Aug. 15, 8:51 a.m.
Sheriff Frankie Springfield responded to an accident on Stegal St. in Dixon. According to the report, Ryan Myrick, 18 of Providence, was backing out of a parking spot behind the courthouse and failed to see the parked vehicle belonging to James Dorris. There were minor damages to both vehicles but no injuries were reported.
Fri., Aug. 16, 8:51 a.m.
Deputy Scott Starkey responded to an accident at 178 Bourland Ave in Dixon. According to the report, Sammy Kirby, 77 of Dixon was entering Bourland Park in her 1998 Dodge Dakota when she misjudged the clearance and struck the gate. There were no injuries reported. The vehicle and the gate sustained only minor damages.
Sat., Aug. 17, 3:00 p.m.
Deputy Jay Workins responded to an accident on KY 132 in Dixon. According to the report, Frank Mitchell, 89 of Clay, was turning right onto highway 132 and did not see any vehicles coming in either direction. He pulled onto the roadway and that was when he collided with the 2006 Dodge Charger driven by Kayla Brasher, 16 of Dixon. Brasher reported that she saw Mitchell pull onto the roadway and started honking, but could not avoid the collision. There were no injuries reported, and both vehicles sustained only minor injuries.
Sat., Aug. 17, 10:50 p.m.
Deputy Steve Madden responded to an accident on KY 283, five miles west of Slaughters. According to the report, Bethny L. Logan, 32 of Providence, was traveling south during rainfall and her 2010 Chevy Equinox began to hydroplane. She lost control and went off the shoulder, striking a concrete bridge end. The report states that the passengers were taken to Methodist Hospital in Henderson by private vehicle. The vehicle was towed.
Mon., Aug. 19, 10:50 a.m.
Deputy Donald Jones responded to an accident on US 41 three miles south of Sebree. According to the report, Edwin Bushnell, 45 of Houston, TX was south bound on US 41 in a 2001 Freightliner FL60. Upon meeting the 2008 Buick Lucerne driven by Burnetta Springfield, 72 of Sebree, Bushnell crossed the center line. The vehicles collided. Springfield went off the road, striking a metal culvert. Springfield was transported to Methodist Hospital by Webster County EMS. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
