OWENSBORO, Ky. (8/28/13) - Verizon Wireless employees gathered this afternoon as the Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony at Verizon's Frederica Street location.

Katie Monroe, District Manager, recognized this event as "a huge honor."

"It's always nice to meet, mingle and network with other professionals," Monroe said.

Monroe has been with Verizon for about a year now, but has held a number of positions within the company.

"I began my career in sales, was promoted to assistant manager, became a store manager, and am now the district manager," Monroe said.

With stores in Madisonville, Henderson, Owensboro, Evansville and Newburgh, IN., Monroe recognizes the importance of community outreach.

"We always try to give back to the community. We want to continue on the path of success and leadership," Monroe said.
