MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (11/11/13) – The Pogue name has been synonymous with quality car buying since November 1987. Now, almost exactly 26 years later, Mark Pogue says his ultimate dream has come true.

The Pogue Autoplex, at 2250 West Everly Brothers Boulevard, is now complete, and offers hundreds of vehicles. For decades the long strip of undeveloped fields sitting directly across from Copper Creek Shopping Center sat untouched

Now, The Pogue Auto Group has moved in, offering 64,000 square feet of showroom space, more than many large metropolitan area car dealers.

"We're proud to have our complete inventory all be in one place,” said Pogue. “Plus, we have many extras not offered anywhere else in the area. We are delighted to serve, not just the Muhlenberg County car buyers, but the fact is a huge number of our customers come from surrounding counties and beyond. We feel this shows we are treating our customers right."

"The Pogue Group, after much hard work and planning, now offers our customers an inventory of at least 600 vehicles in stock at all times. So, now, folks can choose from a wide selection of brands all in one place, including Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram. Of course, we also offer quality pre-owned vehicles," Pogue told Surfky News. "Our very popular D & P Auto Sales will be finished and ready to roll in December, offering an even bigger selection in one location."

Pogue noted that the original D & P Auto Sales location was leveled by the deadly tornado in February of 2008.

"The Pogue Autoplex has been in the planning stages for years", Pogue said."But the actual purchasing of land, along with the building of the showrooms, were only part of the master plan. The Pogue Autoplex also includes a state-of-the-art car wash complex, which includes a cloth car wash, touch free car wash, and Broad Way's Car Polisher and Shine equipment. We also have added Pogue Gas, which features a customer loyalty card. So when you buy any vehicle, new or pre-owned, from Pogue Autoplex you get a special card. It automatically rolls your cost per gallon back to a reduced price." Pogue explained, adding that "right now the price is $3.08 a gallon. That is hard to beat."

Other cutting edge extras include the relaxing waiting rooms for customers, complete with large screen TVs and fresh coffee, and ceiling to floor glass walls that allow car buyers to make their best deal in the office, while looking at the vehicle they're purchasing parked right outside. The Pogue Autoplex even has climate controlled service garages with automatic doors that open as you pull up, and close behind you to keep heat and cold air outside.

In short, Mark Pogue has thought of just about everything to make car buying as easy as possible.

As vice chairman of the Kentucky Automobile Dealers Association, Pogue has had an opportunity to visit many automobile dealers in Kentucky. “I have gotten some great ideas with those visits and I am incorporating those technological advancements in my dealerships,” he said.

Pogue Automotive Group was already one of the largest volume dealers in the Southeast before the expansion and consolidation. Now, the auto sales and service staff, along with the other operations included in the Pogue Autoplex employ around 75 employees, with additional part time contractual employees handling the enormous task of keeping the buildings and car lots clean 24/7.

With the 2014 vehicles rolling in daily, Pogue said he is even more excited than ever as he heads into his 27th year in auto sales.

"We have some really fantastic new vehicles coming in daily." Pogue said.

As a country boy, he admits he is partial to the new 2014 Chevy Silverado.

"It's all new from hood to hitch. It comes with a double cab and a V-8 engine that gets 23 miles per gallon on the highway. And, it's just about the quietest truck you'll ever drive. But if I had to pick a 2014 car, the Chevy Impala is at the top of the list. It comes with all the bells and whistles, and goes from zero to 60 miles per hour in 6.8 seconds." Pogue said.

To say the least, Mark Pogue is excited about finally getting moved into his new Autoplex, and excited about the new vehicles rolling onto the enormous, new lot he has dreamed of for so long.
