HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (1/10/14) — A Hopkinsville man was killed when his vehicle struck an oncoming train along Old Concord Lane about 1:32 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10 in Hopkinsville.

According to a Hopkinsville Police Department report, Justin R. Johnson, 24, was driving a GMC Yukon, when he failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming railroad train. The front end of Johnson's vehicle struck the right side of the engine of the train causing it to overturn into an adjacent culvert. Johnson was ejected from the vehicle sustaining fatal injuries, according to HPD.
