Accident Injuries 01 300MIDLAND, Ky. (1/23/14) — A Central City woman was injured when the vehicle she was riding in ran off the road and overturned Thursday, Jan. 23.

According to a Kentucky State Police report, Keith Gish, 45, was driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix about 10:07 a.m. headed west on Kentucky 70. He was traveling behind a slower-moving vehicle and crossed into the eastbound lane to see if it was clear to pass. Another vehicle was approaching eastbound.

The report said Gish abruptly returned to the westbound lane and lost control of the vehicle. He exited the right side of the road and struck a ditch. The vehicle then overturned and came to rest on its top partially in the ditch and partially in the westbound lane.

Gish, who was not wearing a seat belt, was not injured. His wife, Belinda Gish, 45, who was wearing a seat belt, was transported via ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment.

Trooper Jerry Knight investigated the collision.

The Bremen Volunteer Fire Department, the Graham Volunteer Fire Department, Muhlenberg County EMS, the Muhlenberg County Road Department, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet assisted at the scene.
