surfky daff logo 300WESTERN KENTUCKY (3/24/14) — As the green blades of irises, crocuses and tulips start peeking out from the winter weary ground, a dusting of snow could possibly fall upon them Monday night.

According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, after a sunny day with a high of about 48 degrees, there is a 20 percent chance of snow with a low of 31 degrees for tonight.

For Tuesday, there's a 20 percent chance of snow before 8 a.m., giving way to partly sunny skies and a high near 40. It will also be breezy with a northwest wind 10 to 20 mph and gusts as high as 29 mph.

Tuesday night, temperatures will dip to around 21 degrees with wind continuing at 7 to 14 mph.

For Wednesday, sunny skies with a high near 45 are predicted with less wind at only 6 mph from the south in the afternoon. For Wednesday night, expect partly cloudy skies with a low of around 35.

There's a 20 percent chance of showers after 8 a.m. Thursday with cloudy skies and a low of around 49 degrees. South winds should be around 17 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Friday brings a greater chance for showers and thunderstorms with a high of 61 expected under cloudy skies. The chance of showers and thunderstorms continue Friday night with a low of around 39.

There is a silver lining to forecast for the upcoming weekend. It should be partly sunny with a near 59 Saturday with a prediction of sunny skies and a high near 64 for Sunday.
