obo art 300OWENSBORO, Ky. (6/9/14) — An exhibition of fifteen paintings by Owensboro artist Enid Roach will open with a reception at the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation Gallery June 19, 2014, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The gallery is located on the second floor of the Chase Bank building at 200 East Third Street, and the public is invited to attend.

This exhibition continues the series of shows by area artists in the gallery and is presented through a partnership of the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art and the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation.

As an artist and educator, Roach continues to leave a distinctive mark in the regional art world and currently teaches art in the Owensboro Public School system. She has presented numerous exhibitions, some of which have been featured at the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art. Her work is represented in the permanent collections of museums and other private and public collections, including the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art.

This selection of paintings presents local and regional images of nature and landscapes, a typical subject matter for the artist. Roach spent her formative years in western Kentucky, developing an intense interest in nature and the regional landscape which is reflected in her unique and personal style of representational painting. In addition to painting, Roach is an award-winning ceramic artist whose works are regularly featured in regional craft fairs.

This exhibition will remain on display through September and many of the paintings are available for purchase.

The public may view the exhibition at the Greater Owensboro Economic Development Corporation Gallery during office hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
