HENDERSON, Ky. (9/6/13) – Henderson County School Psychologist Kristin Shiflet has been nominated as the Kentucky Association for Psychology in the Schools (KAPS) Region Award Winner for the Best School Psychologist Award for the Western Kentucky Region. She will be recognized at the 2013 KAPS Conference titled “Healthy Minds, Healthy Schools” in Louisville, Kentucky on September 18-20.
Laura McGrail, Henderson County School Psychologist nominated Kristin Shiflet.
“Kristin is an exemplary school psychologist,” McGrail said. “She has provided excellent school psychology services to two Western Kentucky districts. She first served Union County Schools for two years upon moving from Virginia and has served Henderson County Schools for the past two years. Kristin is extremely knowledgeable and actively pursues a wide range of professional development to enhance her skills. She has received extensive training in the Carbone method of Applied Behavior Analysis/Discrete Trial Instruction and serves as a trainer and consultant in this methodology for our district. She is also a highly valued member of the district’s Autism Cadre and Autism Consultation Team.”
Kristin Shiflet currently works at Jefferson Elementary, North Middle School, and Central Academy with Response to Intervention Teams, focused on behavioral programs with the at risk students and special needs students.
