KENTUCKY (7/13/13) - Recently, I was chatting with a new friend of mine. He is usually a spunky, elderly man but on this day he was quite depressed. He spoke to me about feeling abandoned.
A couple of weeks later, I was visiting another friend of mine. She had just lost her father, whom she had provided care for. Of course, she was grieving from the loss. She was also anxious about her finances and possible having to leave her father's house, where she had lived for many years taking care of him.
A few days later, I was speaking to a family member who was living with a friend. They had recently had a disagreement and his friend kicked him out. He was franticly trying to sort out what his next step would be.
All three of these people have something in common; they have a Father who loves them unconditionally.
I, too, have gone through frightening experiences. During one of my own tragic situations, I was conversing with a wise mentor of mine. After listening to me, she said something that has stuck with me for years.
She said to me:
"Why are you scared darling, the Lord has not forsaken you yet. What makes you think he will start now?"
I passed her wisdom on to my loved ones.
To the man who felt abandoned, I asked him if he believed the Lord was with him. He answered, "Yes", with certainty. To him I stated,
"If your Father has not left you in 80 years, why would he leave now?"
To my friend and family member who is worried financially, I said,
"If the Father has watched after your needs for 60 years, why would he stop now? If He takes care of the wild animals, surely He will take care of you."
To you I say,
"Why be fearful? If the Creator of everything seen and unseen is with you, whom or what should you fear?"
Never fear your journey ahead, for as God has watched over you all your life and , in spite of your fears, has brought you through all the trials and sorrows of your life, so God will take you through the darkest vale, into the light.
"The Quiet Mind, Sayings of White Eagle"
Wishing you hope and faith in your journey called life.
