fatal accidentPADUCAH, KY (6/23/12) – On June 24, 2012, Kentucky State Police officials were dispatched to the scene of a reported accident on I-24.

Once on the scene, Troopers found that Reginald Brooks was traveling west near exit 16 on Interstate 24 when his semi had a tire blow out.  Brooks continued west at a slow rate of speed. Brooks’ semi was then struck by another semi driven by Bruce White, also traveling west on Interstate 24.  

All parties were transported to Western Baptist Hospital for injuries. Brooks and his passenger, Donna Rider, were both treated and released.  White was also transported to Western Baptist Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  

The investigation is continuing by Trooper Eric Fields. Trooper Fields was assisted by Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, McCracken County Sheriff’s Department, Kentucky Highway Department, Reidland-Farley Fire Department, Mercy Regional Ambulance Service, and Hippie’s Wrecker Service.
