  • Fifteenth Annual Owensboro Public Schools Fine Arts Festival March 24 - April 2 (times vary) – RiverPark Center, 101 Daviess St. More than 3,000 performers in orchestra, band, drama, choir and dance will perform in Cannon Hall. More than 600 individual pieces of art will be on display in the Lobby. Orchestra Night March 24; Choir Night March 25; Band Night March 26; Theatre Night April 1; Dance Night April 2.   • Le-Vel Local & The Thrive Experience March 27, 7 p.m. – Pangea Café & Catering Company, 1320 Carter Rd. Introducing the Thrive Experience to Owensboro, a “life changing hour” of how "The Thrive Experience" is helping the local community become healthy and live life they deserve without the daily struggles of fatigue, chronic pain, and more.   • Owensboro Flea Market March 28 - 30 All Day – Owensboro Convention Center, 501 W. 2nd St. Hundreds of vendors bring their wares to the Owensboro Convention Center. Admission to the event is $1. For more information, visit http://www.owensborocenter.com.

  • “Noises Off” March 28 – 29, 7:30 p.m. – The Empress, 418 Frederica St. A fifth-rate theater troupe unwittingly performs both sides of a comedic calamity in this play within a play. For more information call (270) 683-5333 or visit http://www.theatreworkshop.org.

  • BPA World Series Qualifier March 29 - 30 (All Day) – Panther Creek and Fisher Parks Baseball tournaments will be held throughout the day.

  • Nano Days March 29, 10 a.m. and March 30, 2:30 p.m. – Owensboro Museum of Science & History, 122 E. 2nd St. NanoDays is a nationwide festival of educational programs and activities about nanoscale science and engineering and its potential impact on the future. Nano means super small! Join the museum staff and learn how super small things are making a super big difference in science. Morning activity include, Robots and People (for all ages). Learn what robots and nanobots are, what they can do, and how they affect our lives. Imagine and draw a robot, designing it to do a particular task.   • Saturday Morning Live March 29, 10 a.m. – noon – Daviess Co. Public Library, 2020 Frederica St. Self-guided fun and educational activities with a focus on literacy and school readiness are offered during this event.   • OASIS “Chair-A-Tea” Fundraiser March 29, 2 - 4 p.m. – Owensboro Christian Church, 2818 New Hartford Rd. Annual fundraiser for OASIS, the women's shelter, will include a Tea Party and a silent auction of a dozen artistically painted chairs, a children's table set, doll's chair and toy chest, and many other items.   • “Rhapsody in Blue” March 30, 3 p.m. – RiverPark Center, 101 Daviess St. The Kentucky Wesleyan College Wind Ensemble/Honors Wind Ensemble, with Diane Earle as piano soloist, will present a free concert Sunday, March 30, 3 p.m. at the Cannon Hall, RiverPark Center. Steven A. Pederson, Director of Bands at Kentucky Wesleyan College, will conduct the KWC Wind Ensemble, assisted by DuWayne Dale. Mr. Dale is Director of Bands at Daviess Co. High School. This 95-member group will feature traditional and contemporary works for the wind band by Shostakovich, Barnes, Biebl, Press, and Fillmore, along with solo piano performances by Dr. Diane Earle from Owensboro, Ky. She will also be performing “Rhapsody in Blue” by George Gershwin, one of the most famous and important of all 20th century piano/wind ensemble works.   • "TWO Off The Aisle, An Evening of Lessons in Culinary Arts" March 31, 7 - 9 pm – various locations. The Theatre Workshop of Owensboro has announced TWO Off the Aisle, an evening of interactive lessons in culinary arts featuring several of downtown Owensboro’s prominent cooks. Monday, March 31, aspiring chefs can choose from four fun classes focusing on very different aspects of food preparation. Bill Hughes, proprietor of Bill’s Restaurant, will invite participants into his basement bakery to share the secrets of his homemade bread. 420 Frederica Street. Miller House chef Kasey Dillow welcomes students into the Miller House kitchen where she will teach the restaurant’s signature bourbon-infused dishes. 301 W. 5th Street. Alisha Hardison, master baker behind Dalisha’s Desserts, offers a class in preparing gum paste ornaments and tips for beautiful cakes. 1010 Allen Street, Ste. 200. Campbell Club chef Matt Weafer will teach students a fresh take on finding and preparing locally sourced produce. 517 Frederica Street. Each of the restaurants will be closed to other customers on that night so participating students will enjoy a private, intimate behind-the-scenes experience. A class is $20 for TWO Members, $25 for all others. The cost of the class includes a serving of wine, materials, a 60-90 minute presentation, and printed instructions. Participants will enjoy a fun, interactive environment and a sampling of food before leaving with new skills and recipes.
