MURRAY, Ky. - Professor Bill Burnley, 80, of Murray, KY passed away Monday, April 1, 2013 at Western Baptist Hospital.
Professor Burnley was born on December 10, 1932 in Kevil, KY. He was a retired Physics and Astronomy professor from Murray State University and later at Paducah Community College and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ora Mae Casey Burnley; a daughter, Louis Burnley; four brothers; Old Dan, David, O.T., and Jack Burnley; and a sister, Edna Earle Darnell.
He is survived by: his wife, Marie Burnley of Murray; a son, James Burnley of Louisville, KY; two daughters, Anna Marie Burnley Stoddard and husband Dean Francis of Tallahassee, FL and Mona Simone of Louisville, KY; two brothers, Wayne Burnley and wife Jackie of Jackson, MS and Charles Burnley and wife Sue of Searcy, AR; a sister, Mary Ella Epps of St. Louis, MO and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Imes-Miller Funeral Home in Murray. Rev. Phillip McClure will officiate. The committal service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday at the Kinsey Cemetery near Neelyville, Missouri. Military rites will be observed.
The family will receive visitors between the hours of 5-8 PM on Thursday at Imes-Miller Funeral Home.
