MURRAY, Ky. - William A. Erickson, 90, of Muskegon, MI passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at home of natural causes.
Mr. Erickson was born on December 15, 1922 to the late William Erickson, Sr. and Mildred Dahl Erickson in Muskegon, MI. He was a World War II veteran, and a member of the Army Airforce where he served as a tail gunner on the B-17 Flying Fortress. His 306th Bomb Group was known as “First Over Germany.” He was a member of the Muskegon Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Erickson was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Erickson; his father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Ruby Jewell; Robert and Euple Rowland; and Norma Jean Hale.
Mr. Erickson is survived by his wife, Uva Nell Erickson of Muskegon, MI; one daughter, Nancy Erickson of Grand Rapids, MI; one son, Mark Erickson of Muskegon, MI; one sister-in-law, Mary Erickson of Muskegon, MI; a brother-in-law, Preston Jewell of Murray; Bernard and Doris Tabors of Nashville, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Imes-Miller Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Murray City Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to the service.
